The INCAA officially announced the winners of the “Ópera Prima 2024” contest

Through Resolution 556/2025, published this Monday in the Official Gazette, the National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts (INCAA) officially announced the six projects selected in the framework of the “Ópera Prima 2024” contest, a program aimed at directors and producers seeking to make their first feature film.

The projects chosen by the jury were:

  • Cero cincuenta, by Mariana Gisele Rojas.

  • Partida de nacimiento, by Lechiguana Films S.R.L. and Vista Sur S.R.L.

  • No lo grites, by Ajimolido Films S.R.L.

  • Galope, by 30 Grados Cine S.A.S.

  • No huelas, by Milena Luz Michan.

  • El tiempo suspendido, by Cristian Ferreira da Camara.

The measure was recorded in the minutes of August 6, 2025, and involved various areas of the institution, which confirmed that the beneficiaries have no outstanding debts with the agency.

The “Ópera Prima” contest is established under Film Law No. 17.741 as part of policies to promote audiovisual production and encourage new talent. However, the announcement comes at a sensitive time for the INCAA, which faces criticism over the reduced levels of funding and the lack of transparency in the use of collected funds. Although revenue remains similar to previous years, far fewer projects are being financed.

The recognition of six new proposals represents a positive step for emerging filmmakers, but it is not enough to dispel doubts about the INCAA’s current management. The contrast between official announcements and the perception of stagnation in national production reinforces the notion that, beyond the published resolutions, the institute is going through a credibility crisis and struggling to effectively fulfill its central mission: to foster Argentine cinema in a sustained and transparent way.
