El renovado Festival de Cine de Edimburgo, el más antiguo del mundo, proyectará 37 nuevos largometrajes, 18 de los cuales serán estrenos mundiales durante su edición de 2024, que se celebrará del 15 al 21 de agosto.
La programación completa de Edimburgo fue revelada en la tarde de ayer en la capital escocesa por el nuevo director del festival, Paul Ridd, ex jefe de adquisiciones de Picturehouse. La competencia internacional de largometrajes del festival, ahora denominada Premio Sean Connery a la Excelencia en la Realización de Largometrajes, proyectará 10 películas, todas estrenos mundiales.
Cardumen, la nueva película de la directora argentina Inés Villanueva, participará en la competencia oficial de cortometrajes en calidad de estreno mundial. Sus anteriores trabajos (Así somos sin Serena, Perfume para cuatro y Para probar que realmente existimos) participaron en distintos festivales alrededor del mundo entre ellos BAFICI (Ediciones 16º, 18º y 20º), Festival de Cine Latinoamericano de la Habana, San Diego Latino Film Festival, FICCALI & otros.
Sinopsis: Amanda se prepara para un concurso de canto, dedica cada minuto de su fin de semana para componer una canción sobre “moluscos y existencialismo”. Beto irrumpe en la casa con la intención de ayudarla pero por el contrario genera una distracción muy grande al invitar a Rami, un amigo fanático del squash que insiste en festejar su cumpleaños en la casa.
