The prestigious documentary film festival Visions du Réel has officially opened its call for submissions for the 57th edition, which will take place from April 17 to 26, 2026. The organization invites filmmakers and creators to submit their non-fiction projects and films to be part of one of the most important documentary film events worldwide.

The selection committees are looking for bold and visionary works to include in both the Official Selection and the VdR–Industry program. This is a unique opportunity for emerging and established filmmakers to showcase their work at a festival internationally recognized for its commitment to innovation and quality in the documentary genre.

Key submission deadlines are as follows:

Early deadline: October 17, 2025
Final deadline: December 15, 2025
VdR–Development Lab submission deadline: November 6, 2025
