The Tribeca Festival has opened submissions for its 2027 edition, which will take place from June 3 to 12 in New York, with categories for feature films, short films, documentaries, games, podcasts, and other projects.
In the feature film category, the festival accepts narrative and documentary films with a minimum runtime of 40 minutes, from both emerging filmmakers and established directors. Selected films will be assigned by the programming team to the section it considers most appropriate.
Feature films must maintain, at minimum, New York Regional premiere status prior to the 2027 edition. The festival defines the New York region as the entire state of New York.
Works in progress can also be submitted. In these cases, the material must be clearly identified as WIP or Rough Cut and indicate which elements are still pending. Filmmakers may update their screening link with newer versions up until the applicable submission deadline.
The call also includes categories for narrative, documentary, animation, and experimental short films, with a runtime of under 40 minutes, as well as submission categories for games, podcasts, and other projects.
For short films, the deadlines are October 28, 2026, as the early deadline, with a US$50 fee; December 2, 2026, as the official deadline, with a US$70 fee; and February 3, 2027, as the final deadline, with a US$80 fee.
Filmmakers and creators can consult the different categories, requirements, fees, and deadlines before submitting their films or projects to the 2027 edition of the festival.
