Syncro Film Fest opens the call for submissions for its fourth edition in Buenos Aires
Syncro Film Fest, the International Short Film Festival of the City of Buenos Aires, has announced the opening of submissions for its fourth edition, which will take place from June 25 to 28, 2026. The Leopoldo Lugones Theater will once again serve as the festival’s main venue, reaffirming its role as one of the region’s key spaces for short-film exhibition.
The organizers have invited both Argentine and international filmmakers to submit their works and take part in this new edition, which aims to strengthen the prominence of the short-film format within the local and global audiovisual landscape. Submissions will remain open until March 17, 2026.
The festival has set specific eligibility requirements. Short films that have had a commercial release in Argentine theaters—or are scheduled to be released before the festival ends—will not be accepted. Works that have been made available online or screened at other festivals within the City of Buenos Aires are also ineligible.
National and international short films completed on or after January 1, 2025, may apply, encompassing both recent productions and premieres yet to be showcased. With this new edition, Syncro Film Fest reaffirms its commitment to showcasing, promoting, and discovering new voices in contemporary cinema.
