The renowned international festival DokuFest has officially announced the opening of submissions for its highly anticipated 25th edition — a historic milestone for both the festival and cinema in the region. The jubilee edition will take place from August 7 to 15, 2026, across various venues in the vibrant city of Prizren.

Submissions are open for short and feature-length documentaries, as well as fiction, animation, and experimental short films. All works must be submitted exclusively through the FilmFreeway platform, where the full festival regulations can also be consulted.

Since its founding in 2002, DokuFest has transformed the historic center of Prizren into a true celebration of cinema, art, and community — showcasing more than 200 carefully selected films from around the world each year. The prestigious Filmmaker Magazine has twice recognized DokuFest as one of the 25 coolest film festivals in the world, further cementing its international reputation.

As a qualifying festival for the BAFTA and European Film Awards, DokuFest continues to serve as an essential platform for discovering new cinematic voices, fostering creative dialogue, and redefining the contemporary film experience.
