The National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts (INCAA) has announced the winners of the 2025 Second Feature Film Competition, aimed at directors presenting their second fiction feature in collaboration with a production company. The selected projects are Las ilusiones by Ingrid Pokropek and Los amigos de mis papás by Romina Tamburello, each of which will receive USD 225,000 for production.
Las ilusiones, produced by 36 Caballos (Juanse Alamos, Iván Moscovich, and Ingrid Pokropek), is a fantasy dramedy. Three people see a shooting star and make a wish, but due to a mix-up, each one gets someone else’s wish. A sculptor wakes up with his boyfriend while his father’s ghost knocks on the door; a musician hears a song he wrote for his ex become a radio hit; and a teenage girl falls in love with the boy who gave her a ride home on his motorcycle—without knowing how to find him again.
Los amigos de mis papás (My Parents’ Friends), written and directed by Romina Tamburello, is produced by Santiago King, Federico Actis, and Lechiguana Films. Based on Tamburello’s own novel, it follows Cecilia, a biotechnologist facing a personal and professional crisis, when her 65-year-old parents tell her they want to become swingers. She decides to get involved to make sure they do it “safely,” while her own relationship begins to fall apart. The cast includes Alejandra Flechner, Luis Ziembrowski, and Camila Peralta.
According to the institute’s resolution, both projects were evaluated by a specialized jury in accordance with the General Guidelines for INCAA Competitions and Awards (Resolution 453/2024), which establish artistic, administrative, and federal evaluation criteria. The production companies meet all the technical, legal, and financial requirements set out in INCAA Resolution No. 161/2025.
