CineMart opens its call for international projects in development as part of IFFR, the International Film Festival Rotterdam

The CineMart co-production market, the industry section of the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR), has launched its call for entries for its upcoming edition, which will take place from February 1 to 4, 2026. This is a key platform for film projects in development that are seeking international partners to move forward.

Described by the organizers as a “catalyst” for projects to find the strategic allies they need, CineMart offers a meeting point where directors and producers from around the world present their ideas to co-producers, investment funds, sales agents, and distributors.

To be eligible, projects must meet basic criteria such as artistic quality, the strength of the creative team, and production feasibility. A confirmed director and producer are required, as well as secured national funding or third-party investment for the development phase. For the first time, the call is also open to immersive projects, with up to four titles to be selected.

“We present projects from independent directors and producers to ensure a wide variety of stories, ranging from smaller, more delicate works to those backed by established teams with large budgets. This selection reflects IFFR’s overall editorial vision,” the organizers emphasized.

Priority will be given to films participating in a market of this kind for the first time, reaffirming the event’s commitment to supporting emerging talents at a crucial stage in their careers. Submission fees range from €25 to €55 plus tax, depending on the application date (July 7, July 21, or August 27). Interested applicants can submit their proposals through CineMart’s official website.
