Proyecta Selects 12 Film Projects to Boost Co-Productions Between Latin America and Europe at Ventana Sur
14 de Octubre · 2026

The Proyecta platform will hold its ninth edition as part of Ventana Sur, bringing together twelve film projects in development seeking funding and international partners to bring their first or second features to fruition. The audiovisual market will take place in Montevideo, Uruguay, from November 30 to December 4, with the initiative aiming to strengthen co-production ties between Latin America and Europe.

Jointly organized by Ventana Sur, the Marché du Film of the Cannes Film Festival, and the San Sebastián International Film Festival, the initiative will connect the teams behind the selected projects with production companies, international sales agents, and festival programmers. The in-person presentations will take place on Wednesday, December 2, with producers pitching their projects, alongside professional networking events designed to foster new partnerships.

This year’s selection brings together projects from a range of countries and cinematic backgrounds. Nine projects come from Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Peru, and Uruguay, while seven have majority production or co-production involvement from Spain, France, or Italy. The selected titles include Cara Sucia, by Ignacio Acconcia González, and Isabel Hernández, by Giorgio Giampà, both of which will have another opportunity to present their projects to industry professionals after participating in the 15th Europe-Latin America Co-Production Forum at the San Sebastián Film Festival.

The lineup is rounded out by Cabildo 71, by Victoria Pena Echeverría; Conejos, by Sara Nanclares; El lugar y la esperanza, by Ariagna Fajardo Nuviola; Huaco Retrato, by Melina León; La Ausencia, by Jorge Sistos Moreno; La Otra Montaña, by Horacio Reyes Páez; and Los Mejores Días, by Maria Zanetti.

Participants will also have access to several opportunities for funding and international exposure. One of the selected projects will have the opportunity to participate in the following year’s Sorfond Pitching Forum, a platform designed to connect projects with potential Norwegian co-producers. If it secures a Norwegian co-production and meets the relevant requirements, it will also be eligible to apply for funding from the Norwegian fund. In addition, two producers will be invited to the San Sebastián Film Festival in 2027.

The edition will also feature the Sideral Cinema Award, which provides for the advance acquisition of international rights to one of the future films with a minimum guarantee of €10,000, as well as the new ArteKino International Award, worth €6,000. Together with the networking activities, these awards aim to support the projects’ development and facilitate their access to international partners and markets.
