The Punto de Vista International Documentary Film Festival of Navarre has opened the call for film entries for its Official Section for its 21st edition, to be held March 9–14, 2027, in Pamplona.
Organized by NICDO and promoted by the Department of Culture of the Government of Navarre, the festival will accept submissions until October 15, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Registration costs 5 euros and must be completed through the form available on the festival’s official website.
The call is open to documentary films of any nationality, with no restrictions on subject matter, length, or original language. Works must have been made after August 1, 2025. Fiction films, institutional or advertising productions, as well as reportage and strictly journalistic works, are excluded.
The selection committee will announce the chosen films during January 2027. The selection will follow the principles that define the festival’s identity, centered on exploring documentary film as a space for encounter, reflection, and knowledge, with special attention to cinematic works marked by risk-taking, formal exploration, and ethical commitment to both the people portrayed and the audience.
As in previous editions, the Official Section will bring together works offering innovative perspectives on reality through documentary language, with no geographic or thematic limitations.
Awards
An international jury, whose members will be announced in the coming months, will present the official awards during the festival’s closing gala.
The awards will be:
- Punto de Vista Grand Prize for Best Film, worth 10,000 euros.
- Jean Vigo Award for Best Direction, worth 5,000 euros, recognizing the work that best represents the ethical and formal values associated with the legacy of the French filmmaker.
- Best Short Film Award, worth 3,000 euros, for films up to 35 minutes long.
- Up to two special mentions, with no cash prize.
In addition, the festival will present the Special Audience Award, worth 1,650 euros, and the Youth Award, worth 1,500 euros.
