The IFFR opens submissions for films and Art Directions proposals for its 2027 edition

The International Film Festival Rotterdam has officially opened its call for entries for the 2027 edition, inviting filmmakers and artistic project creators to submit their work in both film format and experimental proposals through its Art Directions section.

According to the organization, submissions for films and media projects are now open, with different deadlines and fees depending on the category and submission date. For feature films (64 minutes or longer), as well as short and medium-length films (under 64 minutes), the schedule is the same: an early fee available until June 15, 2026 at 5:00 PM (CEST), a regular fee until August 31, 2026 at the same time, and a late fee extending until September 15, 2026.

The Art Directions section — a space that pushes the traditional boundaries of cinema toward immersive and multidisciplinary experiences — has also opened its call with its own specific deadlines. For the sound//vision category, focused on live audiovisual performances, the submission deadline is August 7, 2026. Immersive media projects, meanwhile, have until August 14, 2026 to apply.
